FLASH FREEZE WARNING

A vigorous cold front will sweep across Quebec tonight. Temperatures are expected to suddenly drop by about 15 to 20 degrees in a few hours. Dress warmly. Wear multiple layers of clothing. The outer layer should be windproof. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots will become icy, slippery and hazardous. Flash freeze warnings are issued when a rapid drop in temperature is expected, that can cause water from rain or melted snow on streets and sidewalks to quickly freeze. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to QCstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #QCStorm.

RAINFALL WARNING

Rainfall, combined with melting snow, is expected. The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall. Total rainfall amounts of 30 to 50 millimetres are expected through Thursday morning. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to QCstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #QCStorm.
