Highway Alerts for: South Klondike Highway - Carcross to White Pass

Special Weather Statement

Very strong winds expected. Where: White Pass, Atlin, Teslin, Whitehorse, Haines Junction, Kluane Lake, and Pelly-Carmacks. When: Tuesday until very early Wednesday morning. What: Wind gusts up to 80 km/h, possibly higher. Potential Impacts: - Localized power outages. - Travel disruptions and delays. - Tossing of loose objects. - Tree and property damage. Remarks: A very deep and robust low pressure system will form over the Aleutians and push into Alaska later today. Winds will increase tonight and early Tuesday morning. By midday Tuesday, the deep low will make its way into central Yukon. Very strong southerly winds gusting up to 80 km/h are expected with this system. Higher gusts could occur if the low deepens more than current models are indicating. By early Wednesday morning the low will have moved out of the Yukon and the strong winds will subside at that time. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.   • Add to shortcuts

    • Click on the "Close" button to save the change
  • Keyboard navigation
    • Use the Tab key to move to a button or link
    • Use the Enter key to click on buttons or links
    • Organize shortcuts navigation
      • Use the ↑ Up key to select the link above. If none are selected, it will select the first link.
      • Use the ↓ Down key to select the link below. If none are selected, it will select the last link.
      • Use the Page Up key to move a selection up in the list.
      • Use the Page Down key to move a selection down in the list.
  • Restore default list

    Warning: Clicking on the button below will remove all your customized links.
