Special Weather Statement in effect for:
A broad low pressure system will affect the province midweek, bringing unseasonably mild temperatures, rain, and a rapid drop in temperatures. At first, the weather will be mild and rainy on Wednesday. This will give favourable conditions for the rapid melting of the existing snow cover. Water ponding may be significant in some places. A vigorous cold front will then move through Eastern Quebec on Thursday. As it passes, rain will change to snow, and strong westerly winds will develop. Finally, temperatures will drop sharply, rapidly freezing water on the ground. Roads could quickly become slippery, making travel difficult. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to QCstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #QCStorm.
