Late-season, accumulating snowfall is expected over some areas. Locations: western Newfoundland. Total snowfall: - less than 5 cm along the coast - potentially 10 to 15 cm over elevated terrain, with locally higher amounts Time span: until tonight. Remarks: Precipitation will transition to snow over many areas early this morning and persist through the day. Snow will accumulate steadily and significantly over higher terrain, while rain, or a mixture of snow and rain, is expected near the coast. Snow accumulation may make travel slow or hazardous. Roads and walkways could become slippery and difficult to navigate. Consider adjusting travel plans to avoid the most hazardous conditions. Motorists should be prepared for winter driving conditions, especially over higher elevations. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
