Yellow Warning - Dust Storm

Impact Level: Moderate

Forecast Confidence: High

Poor visibility in blowing dust is expected. What: reduced visibility in blowing dust. Where: southern Saskatchewan and southern Manitoba When: This afternoon and this evening Comments: Strong westerly winds are causing reduced visibilities in blowing dust this afternoon. Blowing dust is expected for most of the day until winds abate late this evening. Travel will likely be hazardous in some locations. Visibility will likely be suddenly reduced at times. Poor air quality is expected. If driving, turn on your lights, slow down and maintain a safe following distance. Dust storms can strike suddenly. Dust storm warnings are issued when widespread poor visibility in blowing dust is expected. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. Impact Level: Moderate

Forecast Confidence: High

Damaging winds are expected. What: Widespread westerly winds of 70 km/h with gusts as high as 100 km/h. Where: Southern Manitoba When: Through this evening and overnight. Additional information: A strong low pressure system over central Saskatchewan will lead to severe westerly wind gusts. In addition to strong winds, drier areas may see restricted visibilities in blowing dust. Winds will abate overnight. Local utility outages are possible. High-sided vehicles will be pushed around by the wind. Damage to roofs, fences, branches or soft shelters is possible. Secure loose objects. Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.   • Add to shortcuts

    • Select the link to rename
    • Click on the "Rename" button and change the link name
    • Click the enter or tab key
    • Click on the "Close" button to save the change
  • Keyboard navigation
    • Use the Tab key to move to a button or link
    • Use the Enter key to click on buttons or links
    • Organize shortcuts navigation
      • Use the ↑ Up key to select the link above. If none are selected, it will select the first link.
      • Use the ↓ Down key to select the link below. If none are selected, it will select the last link.
      • Use the Page Up key to move a selection up in the list.
      • Use the Page Down key to move a selection down in the list.
  • Restore default list
