Recreational boating forecasts for Lake of the Woods Lake Nipigon
North Channel Lake Nipissing and Lake Simcoe issued by Environment
Canada at 5:00 a.m. EDT Wednesday 2 July 2025 for today tonight and
Thursday.
The next scheduled forecast will be issued at 11:30 a.m. EDT.

Fog implies visibility less than 1 mile.

Winds are for mid lake. Nearshore winds may vary considerably due to
shoreline effects.

Note..The recreational boating forecast program is active from May 01
 to November 30.

Lake of the Woods.
Wind light becoming northwest 10 knots near noon then becoming light
 this evening. Wind becoming southeast 10 Thursday morning.

Lake Nipigon.
Wind northwest 10 knots veering to north 10 early this evening then
 becoming light near midnight. Wind becoming south 10 Thursday
 evening.

North Channel.
Strong wind warning in effect.
Wind west 10 knots increasing to west 20 this afternoon then
 diminishing to west 10 near midnight. Wind becoming light Thursday
 morning then becoming west 10 Thursday afternoon. Scattered showers
 overnight with a risk of thunderstorms.

Lake Nipissing.
Wind west 10 knots backing to southwest 10 this morning then becoming
 north 10 this evening. Wind becoming light Thursday morning.
 Scattered showers this afternoon and this evening with a risk of
 thunderstorms.

Lake Simcoe.
Wind northwest 10 knots increasing to northwest 15 near midnight then
 diminishing to northwest 10 Thursday morning. Scattered showers this
 afternoon and this evening with a risk of thunderstorms. Scattered
 showers overnight and Thursday morning.

    • Use the Tab key to move to a button or link
    • Use the Enter key to click on buttons or links
    • Organize shortcuts navigation
      • Use the ↑ Up key to select the link above. If none are selected, it will select the first link.
      • Use the ↓ Down key to select the link below. If none are selected, it will select the last link.
      • Use the Page Up key to move a selection up in the list.
      • Use the Page Down key to move a selection down in the list.
  • Restore default list
