Recreational boating forecasts for Lake of the Woods Lake Nipigon
North Channel Lake Nipissing and Lake Simcoe issued by Environment
Canada at 5:00 a.m. EDT Saturday 10 October 2026 for today tonight
and Sunday.
The next scheduled forecast will be issued at 11:30 a.m. EDT.

Fog implies visibility less than 1 mile.

Winds are for mid lake. Nearshore winds may vary considerably due to
shoreline effects.

Note..The recreational boating forecast program is active from May 01
 to November 30.

Lake of the Woods.
Wind southeast 15 knots diminishing to south 10 this afternoon then
 increasing to north 15 Sunday morning. Wind veering to northeast 15
 Sunday evening. Scattered showers this afternoon. Rain Sunday late
 in the day.

Lake Nipigon.
Strong wind warning in effect.
Wind south 20 knots diminishing to south 15 this evening and to
 variable 10 near noon Sunday. Wind increasing to north 25 Sunday
 evening. Periods of rain ending early this morning. Scattered
 showers this afternoon and this evening. Rain Sunday evening.

North Channel.
Strong wind warning in effect.
Wind southeast 15 knots increasing to southeast 20 near noon then
 veering to south 20 early this evening. Wind diminishing to south 10
 Sunday morning then increasing to south 15 Sunday afternoon.

Lake Nipissing.
Wind light becoming southeast 10 knots early this morning then
 increasing to south 15 this evening. Wind diminishing to south 10
 Sunday morning.

Lake Simcoe.
Wind light becoming southeast 10 knots this morning then increasing
 to southeast 15 this afternoon. Wind diminishing to southeast 10
 late overnight then becoming light Sunday evening. Scattered showers
 Sunday late in the day.

      • Use the ↓ Down key to select the link below. If none are selected, it will select the last link.
      • Use the Page Up key to move a selection up in the list.
      • Use the Page Down key to move a selection down in the list.
