Technical marine synopsis for Newfoundland issued by Environment
Canada at 3:00 a.m. NDT Saturday 10 October 2026 for today tonight
and Sunday.
The next scheduled synopsis will be issued at 10:00 a.m. NDT.

Systems position.
At 3:00 a.m. NDT today departing trough located east of the Marine
District.

At 3:00 a.m. NDT today trough located on a line east-west over
the Strait of Belle Isle.
By 3:00 a.m. NDT Sunday trough located on a line northeast-southwest
over the Grand Banks.

At 10:00 a.m. NDT Sunday approaching ridge located over the
Maritimes.

Marine weather statement for Newfoundland issued by Environment
Canada at 2:51 A.M. NDT Saturday 10 October 2026.

A trough of low pressure is forecast to swing southeastwards across
the district today and tonight before departing to the southeast on
Sunday, as a ridge of high pressure slowly builds towards the
district from the west. Strong to gale force northwesterlies will
persist over most waters between these features.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Belle Isle Bank, Funk Island Bank, and the Southern Grand Banks.

Marine weather statement for Newfoundland issued by Environment
Canada at 7:47 P.M. NDT Friday 9 October 2026.

A trough of low pressure approaching from Labrador is forecast to
cross the district on Saturday bringing strong to gale force
northwesterlies to most waters.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Belle Isle Bank and the Southern Grand Banks.

      • Use the ↑ Up key to select the link above. If none are selected, it will select the first link.
      • Use the ↓ Down key to select the link below. If none are selected, it will select the last link.
      • Use the Page Up key to move a selection up in the list.
      • Use the Page Down key to move a selection down in the list.
  • Restore default list
