Ice forecasts for the Eastern and Northern Arctic issued by
Environment Canada at 11:00 A.M. EDT Friday 9 October 2026 for today
tonight and Saturday.
The next scheduled forecasts will be issued at 11:00 A.M. Saturday.

Ice edge estimated from Baffin Island near 7231N 7515W to 7422N
7418W to 7513N 7321W then eastward. Sea ice west of the ice edge. 

Queens.
8 tenths new ice including 2 tenths multi-year ice except 8 tenths
multi-year ice in the northwestern section. 

Barrow.
3 tenths multi-year ice except 9 tenths grey ice including 4 tenths
multi-year ice in the western section. 

Jones.
5 tenths new ice including 2 tenths multi-year ice. 

Clarence - southern half.
Bergy water except 5 tenths new ice including 2 tenths multi-year
ice in the extreme northwestern section. 

Clarence - northern half.
5 tenths new ice including 2 tenths multi-year ice except 9 tenths
multi-year ice in the extreme northwestern section. 

Admiralty.
Bergy water except 2 tenths new ice in a few sheltered bays in the
extreme southern section. 

Lancaster.
1 tenth new ice including a trace of multi-year ice except 3 tenths
multi-year ice in the extreme southwestern section. 

West Baffin.
Bergy water except 3 tenths new ice including 1 tenth multi-year ice
in the extreme northwestern section. 

East Baffin

  • Add to shortcuts
    • Go to the desired page on the site, open the Weather shortcuts menu and click on the "Add to shortcuts" button
    • Page name will display in the "Add this page" window, the name can be changed by highlighting the text and entering the desired name

    • Click on the "Rename" button and change the link name
    • Click the enter or tab key
    • Click on the "Close" button to save the change
  • Keyboard navigation
    • Use the Tab key to move to a button or link
    • Use the Enter key to click on buttons or links
    • Organize shortcuts navigation
      • Use the ↑ Up key to select the link above. If none are selected, it will select the first link.
      • Use the ↓ Down key to select the link below. If none are selected, it will select the last link.
      • Use the Page Up key to move a selection up in the list.
      • Use the Page Down key to move a selection down in the list.
  • Restore default list

    Warning: Clicking on the button below will remove all your customized links.
