Issued 2:54 PM EST 10 December 2024 A major low pressure system with explosive development will cross the St Lawrence River near Lake Saint-Pierre Wednesday evening to lie over northern Quebec late in the day Thursday.As the system approaches, storm force south to southesterly winds will develop, then turn southwesterly during the day. Westerly gale force winds will continue on Friday and may cause freezing spray in falling temperatures later on.
In addition, wave heights could reach 3 or 4 metres depending on the area.
