Marine weather advisory in effect
Pointe à Michel to Pointe-des-Monts
Issued 04:08 AM EST 01 February 2023 A vigorous cold front will sweep through the Saguenay River and the St Lawrence Estuary overnight Thursday night or early Friday morning. As the front passes, winds could rapidly intensify to over 50 knots from the west. Depending on ice development and movement over the next few days, waves caused by these strong winds could cause freezing spray in ice-free areas. These conditions are expected to continue until Saturday.
The sudden onset of conditions favourable for the development of storm force winds, freezing spray, and very poor visibilities in flurries, as well as the duration of these conditions, could make boating difficult.
