Fan.
By 8:00 p.m. AST tonight departing low 984 mb located east of
Newfoundland.

At 10:00 a.m. AST today ridge located over New England.
By 10:00 a.m. AST Thursday ridge located over the central Marine
District.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:46 AM AST 29 November 2023 A low pressure system over Laurentian Fan will continue northeastward
away from the marine district this afternoon and tonight. Strong to
gale force northwesterlies are expected in its wake today.
These winds will diminish tonight and Thursday morning as the low
moves away and a ridge of high pressure approaching from New England
moves into the marine district.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Banquereau - southeastern half and Laurentian Fan.

Outlook for the start of the Southwest Nova lobster fishery.

Thursday..Winds southwest 10 to 15 increasing to southwesterly 20 to
25 in the morning. Seas 1 to 2 metres building to 2 to 3 metres in
the afternoon.
Friday..Winds southwest 25 diminishing to southwest 15 late in the
day. Seas 2 to 3 metres subsiding to 1 to 2 in the evening.
Saturday..Winds variable 10 to 15 becoming northerly 15 in the
afternoon. Seas 1 to 2 metres subsiding to near 1 metre in the
morning.
Sunday..Winds northeast 15 increasing to easterly 20 in the
afternoon. Seas near 1 metre building to 1 to 2 metres late in the
day.
