Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 8:00 PM ADT 5 June 2020 Tonight and Saturday At 8:00 p.m. ADT tonight trough located over the Gaspe Peninsula.
By 3:00 a.m. ADT Saturday trough located over the Gulf of
St. Lawrence.

At 8:00 p.m. ADT Saturday intensifying trough located from the
Gulf of Maine to Newfoundland.

At 8:00 p.m. ADT tonight quasi-stationary high 1027 mb located
southeast of the Marine District.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 8:00 PM ADT 5 June 2020 A squall warning was issued for the eastern parts of the
Chaleur-Miscou marine region as a strong thunderstorms tracks off the
coast. These thunderstorms may give gusts to 40 knots, heavy rain and
large hail over the next hour.

A trough over the Gaspé Peninsula will slowly push southward towards
a large, stationary ridge of high pressure southeast of the marine
district. This will give strong southwesterlies south of the trough,
which may reach gale force over southernmost waters late on Saturday.
