Marine Weather StatementIssued 2:50 AM ADT 15 August 2020 Tropical storm Kyle will pass just south of slope waters today and
Sunday. Easterly to northeasterly gales are expected to develop to
the north of the track this morning and to spread east through the
afternoon. Winds diminish to strong northeasterlies throughout the
day Sunday as the storm becomes post-tropical and tracks into the
Southern Grand Banks.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Georges Bank, West Scotian Slope, East Scotian Slope and Laurentian
At 3.00 AM ADT today tropical storm Kyle is located at 38.6 north and
longitude 69.0 west, about 600 kilometres southwest of Yarmouth, Nova
Scotia. Maximum sustained winds are estimated at 40 knots (75 km/h)
and central pressure of 1003 MB. Kyle is moving northeast at 14 knots
