Issued 10:00 AM AST 15 January 2021 Today Tonight and Saturday At 10:00 a.m. AST today deepening low 997 mb located south of EastScotian Slope.
By 3:00 a.m. AST Saturday low 972 mb located over the southeastern
Grand Banks.
At 3:00 a.m. AST Saturday low 1004 mb located over the East Coast
of the U.S.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Saturday low 990 mb located over New England.
At 10:00 a.m. AST today ridge located on a line northeast-southwest
over Quebec.
By 10:00 a.m. AST Saturday ridge located on a line north-south
over the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:37 AM AST 15 January 2021 A low pressure system south of East Scotian Slope will intensify asit tracks northeastward to lie over the Southern Grand Banks this
evening. Strong to gale force northerly winds will develop over
southeastern waters today as the low approaches. Winds could possibly
reach storm force over the eastern half of Laurentian Fan this
evening.
On Saturday morning, a low will develop along the Eastern Seaboard
and track northward, pushing a trough into southwestern waters.
Strong to gale force southeasterly winds will spread across the
marine district ahead of the trough.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Grand Manan, Lurcher, Browns Bank, Georges Bank, southwestern shore,
LaHave Bank, West Scotian Slope, East Scotian Slope - western half,
Banquereau - eastern half, and Laurentian Fan.
