Grand Banks.
At 3:00 a.m. NST Sunday trough located over Maine.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Sunday trough located on a line northwest-southeast
over Cabot Strait.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:15 PM NST 16 January 2021 An intense low pressure system just east of the Grand Banks willcontinue eastwards and move out to sea Sunday morning. Gale to storm
force north to northwesterlies will diminish tonight and Sunday as
the low departs.
Meanwhile, a trough of low pressure will approach from the west on
Sunday. Strong to gale force southeasterlies will develop over
southwestern waters ahead of this trough.
Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Southeastern Grand Banks - western half. Gale warnings are in effect
for all remaining waters except Strait of Belle Isle, Northeast
Coast, and Belle Isle Bank.
