At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight merging low 978 mb located east of the
Grand Banks.
By 8:00 p.m. NST Sunday low 938 mb located east of the Marine
District.
At 3:00 a.m. NST Sunday ridge located over southern Quebec.
By 8:00 p.m. NST Sunday ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over the Maritimes.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:47 PM NST 24 January 2026 A low pressure system east of Belle Isle Bank will merge with anotherlow east of the Grand Banks then rapidly intensify well east of Belle
Isle Bank tonight into Sunday. Gale to storm force westerlies to
northwesterlies are expected behind these features.
Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Belle Isle Bank. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters
except Strait of Belle Isle and Northeast Gulf.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters.
