Issued 8:00 PM NST 20 January 2026 Tonight and Wednesday At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight deepening low 990 mb located over northernBelle Isle Bank.
By 8:00 p.m. NST Wednesday low 973 mb located southeast of
Labrador Sea.
At 3:30 p.m. NST Wednesday approaching ridge located on a line
north-south over eastern Quebec.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:48 PM NST 20 January 2026 A low pressure system over the Belle Isle Bank will continue todeepen as it tracks northward to lie over the South Labrador Sea by
overnight tonight. Gale to storm force westerlies will spread over
northern waters, while strong to gale force southwesterlies to
northwesterlies will develop over the rest of the district tonight.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Northeast Coast, belle island bank, and Funk Island Bank.
Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except the Southern Grand Banks.
