By 10:00 a.m. NST Wednesday low 972 mb located over northeastern
Funk Island Bank.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:53 AM NST 19 January 2021 A deepening low pressure system over the Northern Grand Banks willmove to lie over Northeastern Funk Island Bank Wednesday morning.
The low will then track northwestwards towards the Labrador coast on
Wednesday. Strong to gale force southeast to northeasterlies are
expected to the east of the low, while strong to gale force northwest
to southwesterlies are expected to its west and south.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Strait of Belle Isle - eastern half, Belle Isle Bank, Funk Island
Bank, Northern Grand Banks and the Southeastern Grand Banks.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, East Coast, Northeast
Coast, and Belle Isle Bank - southwestern half.
