Issued 3:00 AM NST 27 January 2023 Today Tonight and Saturday At 3:00 a.m. NST today low 975 mb located near Lake Melville.By 3:00 a.m. NST Saturday low 970 mb located east of Labrador Sea.
At 3:00 a.m. NST today trough from low located on a line north-south
over Newfoundland.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Saturday departing trough from low located east
of the Marine District.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Saturday building ridge located over the Gulf of
St. Lawrence.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 2:55 AM NST 27 January 2023 A trough associated with an intense low pressure system over Labradorwill continue across the marine district today. Gale to storm force
south to southeasterlies ahead of the trough will shift to strong to
gale force southwesterlies in its wake. Winds will ease tonight as a
ridge of high pressure builds in from the west.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
all regions except Gulf waters and the Southeastern Grand Banks where
gale warnings are in effect.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, Northeast Coast, Belle
Isle Bank and Funk Island Bank.
