Issued 10:00 AM NST 11 December 2019 Today Tonight and Thursday At 10:00 a.m. NST today quasi-stationary low 970 mb located overeastern Labrador Sea.
At 10:00 a.m. NST today trough located over the Great Northern
Peninsula.
By 10:00 a.m. NST Thursday trough from low located on a line
northeast-southwest over the southeastern Grand Banks.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Thursday approaching trough located over the
St. Lawrence River.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:50 AM NST 11 December 2019 A trough of low pressure over northern waters will move to lie overthe Grand Banks by this evening. Gale force southwesterlies will
shift to generally strong to gale force west to northwesterlies
behind the trough today, except storm force westerlies over Belle
Isle Bank tonight.
A second trough of low pressure will cross the island on Thursday.
Strong to gale force westerlies can be expected south of this
feature.
Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Belle Isle Bank. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters
except Northeast Gulf.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, Northeast Coast, Belle
Isle Bank, and Funk Island Bank.
