By 3:00 a.m. NDT Wednesday low 975 mb located northeast of the
Marine District.
At 3:00 a.m. NDT Wednesday approaching low 974 mb located over
northwestern Labrador Sea.
At 10:00 a.m. NDT today quasi-stationary ridge located over the
southern Grand Banks.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:44 AM NDT 10 March 2026 A deepening low pressure system over the South Labrador Coast willmove northeast of the district this evening. Gale to storm force
southwesterlies ahead of the low will veer to gale to storm force
northwesterlies in its wake. Winds will diminish over most waters
tonight.
Meanwhile, an intense low pressure system will approach from the
Northwest Labrador Sea tonight. This low will help maintain strong to
gale force northwesterlies over Belle Isle Bank throughout the
forecast period.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Strait of Belle Isle, Northeast Coast, Belle Isle Bank and Funk
Island Bank. Gale warnings are in effect for Gulf waters and the East
Coast.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Northeast Coast, Belle Isle Bank and Funk Island Bank.
