Issued 10:00 AM NST 5 February 2023 Today Tonight and Monday At 10:00 a.m. NST today trough located east of the Marine District.By 3:30 p.m. NST today departing trough located southeast of
Greenland.
At 3:30 p.m. NST today trough located on a line northeast-southwest
over the northern Gulf of St. Lawrence.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Monday trough located on a line northeast-southwest
over eastern Newfoundland.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:46 AM NST 5 February 2023 A trough of low pressure just east of the marine district willcontinue to move out to sea today. Gale force northwesterlies over
most waters in its wake will diminish to strong westerlies today as
the trough moves away.
A second trough of low pressure will approach from the west tonight
and sweep across the marine district on Monday. Strong to gale force
southwesterlies will spread across most waters later today and
tonight ahead of the trough. Winds will diminish to moderate to
strong north to northwesterlies on Monday in its wake.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters except Strait of Belle Isle.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except the Southern Grand Banks.
