Issued 3:30 PM NST 20 January 2021 Tonight and Thursday At 3:30 p.m. NST today low 974 mb located over Belle Isle Bank.By 3:30 p.m. NST Thursday dissipating low 998 mb located over
northern Labrador.
At 3:30 p.m. NST today low 1001 mb located off the East Coast of
the U.S.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Thursday low 968 mb located over the southwestern
Grand Banks.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:23 PM NST 20 January 2021 A low pressure system over Belle Isle Bank will track northwestwardstowards the Labrador coast tonight. Strong to gale force easterlies
ahead of the low will shift to strong to gale force westerlies in its
wake.
Meanwhile, a second intensifying low pressure will continue to
develop off the Eastern Seaboard tonight and track across the Grand
Banks on Thursday. Gale to storm force east to northeasterly winds
will develop ahead of the low and shift to gale to storm force west
to northwesterlies in its wake.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
the Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in effect for South Coast, East
Coast, Belle Isle Bank, and Funk Island Bank.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, East Coast, Northeast
Coast, and Belle Isle Bank - southwestern half.
