Issued 3:30 PM NDT 21 August 2019 Tonight and Thursday At 3:30 p.m. NDT today low 999 mb located east of Belle Isle Bank.

At 3:30 p.m. NDT today Tropical Storm Chantal 1010 mb located
south of the Grand Banks.
By 3:00 a.m. NDT Thursday quasi-stationary Tropical Storm Chantal
1010 mb located southeast of the Grand Banks.

At 3:30 p.m. NDT today ridge located on a line north-south over
western Newfoundland.
By 3:30 p.m. NDT Thursday ridge located on a line
northwest-southeast over Belle Isle Bank.

By 3:00 a.m. NDT Thursday approaching low 1004 mb located over
Quebec.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:18 PM NDT 21 August 2019 A low pressure system east of Belle Isle Bank will continue to move
eastward tonight. Strong to gale force northwesterlies will diminish
to strong tonight in the wake of the low.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Belle Isle Bank and Funk Island Bank.

At 11:30 AM NDT, tropical storm Chantal was located near 40.2
North 51.6 west. Maximum sustained winds were 35 knots. Chantal was
moving eastward at about 17 knots. The central pressure of Chantal
was 1009 MB. Chantal is forecast to remain a tropical storm with
maximum sustained winds of 35 knots.

Chantal is not expected to pose a threat to the marine district.
