Wind southwest 25 knots diminishing to variable 10 to 15 early this evening then increasing to southwest 25 late overnight. Wind veering to northwest 25 near noon Wednesday then diminishing to north 15 Wednesday afternoon. Wind veering to northeast 20 Wednesday evening.

Showers and fog patches ending near noon Wednesday. Snow Wednesday evening. Visibility 1 mile or less in fog patches and in snow.

Temperatures plus 5 falling to minus 4 to zero Wednesday evening.

Issued 3:30 PM NST 31 January 2023 Tonight and Wednesday At 3:30 p.m. NST today departing trough located on a line
northeast-southwest over the southeastern Grand Banks.

At 3:30 p.m. NST today intensifying low 1010 mb located near
Sable Island.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Wednesday departing low 998 mb located east of
Funk Island Bank.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:14 PM NST 31 January 2023 An intensifying low pressure system near Sable Island will move to
lie east of Funk Island Bank Wednesday afternoon. Strong to gale
force southwesterlies will develop ahead of the low then shift to
strong to gale force northwesterlies in its wake.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
East Coast, Funk Island Bank, and Northern Grand Banks.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except Strait of Belle Isle and the Southern
Grand Banks.
