At 10:00 a.m. NDT today low 1001 mb located over New England.
By 10:00 a.m. NDT Tuesday low 989 mb located over the Gaspe
Peninsula.
At 10:00 a.m. NDT today ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
By 10:00 a.m. NDT Tuesday ridge located on a line
northwest-southeast over Belle Isle Bank.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:54 AM NDT 14 October 2024 An intense area of low pressure east of Belle Isle Bank willgradually weaken and track away from the district today. Strong to
gale force west to northwesterlies will diminish today as the low
departs and a ridge moves in from the west.
A second low pressure system currently over New England is expected
to deepen and approach the Maritimes tonight. Strong to gale force
east to northeasterlies are expected to develop over northwestern
waters ahead of the low tonight into Tuesday.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Strait of Belle Isle - western half, Gulf waters, Northeast Coast,
Belle Isle Bank, Funk Island Bank, and Northern Grand Banks.
