By 10:00 a.m. NDT Sunday Post-tropical Storm Fiona 960 mb located
over the eastern Quebec Lower North Shore.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 9:51 AM NDT 24 September 2022 Post tropical storm Fiona will approach the region from the south,
moving over Gulf waters later today. Generally gale to storm force
winds can be expected over most waters with hurricane force winds
over extreme southwestern waters as post-tropical storm Fiona
approaches. Winds will become southwesterly and diminish over all
waters on Sunday.
Marine interests are advised that hurricane force wind warnings are
in effect for Gulf-Port au Port - southeastern half and Southwest
Coast. Storm warnings are in effect for Northeast Gulf and South
Coast. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters except
Funk Island Bank, Northern Grand Banks, and Southeastern Grand Banks.
Marine interests are also advised that high water level warnings are
in effect for Gulf-Port au Port, Southwest Coast, and South Coast.
At 9:30 A.M. NDT post-tropical storm Fiona was located near 47.0
degrees north and 61.2 degrees west, about 70 nautical miles
northwest of Sydney. Fiona is moving north-northeast at 30 knots with
maximum sustained winds of 70 knots and a central pressure of 938 MB.
