Issued 3:00 AM NST 9 February 2023 Today Tonight and Friday At 3:00 a.m. NST today low 978 mb located east of Funk Island Bank.By 3:00 a.m. NST Friday low 990 mb located east of the Marine
District.
At 3:30 p.m. NST Friday approaching low 998 mb located over the
Maritimes.
At 3:30 p.m. NST today ridge located over the Maritimes.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Friday ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over Newfoundland.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 2:59 AM NST 9 February 2023 A low pressure system east of the marine district will slowlycontinue eastwards out to sea today and tonight. Meanwhile, a ridge
of high pressure will cross the marine district tonight and Friday.
Strong to gale force northwesterlies can be expected over most waters
between these two features.
A second low pressure system will approach from the southwest on
Friday. Strong to gale force southeasterlies can be expected over
southwestern waters ahead of the low late Friday.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Gulf-Port au Port, Southwest Coast, Belle Isle Bank, and the Grand
Banks.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except the Grand Banks.
