By 8:00 p.m. NST tonight departing low 956 mb located southeast
of Greenland.
At 10:00 a.m. NST today building ridge located on a line
northwest-southeast over northern Quebec.
By 10:00 a.m. NST Friday ridge located from Quebec to Cape Breton
Island.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:55 AM NST 5 March 2026 An intensifying low pressure system east of Belle Isle Bank willdepart to the southeast of Greenland this evening. Gale to storm
force northwesterlies over northern waters, and strong to gale force
west to southwesterlies over southern waters, will gradually diminish
as the low moves away and a ridge of high pressure builds towards the
district from the west.
Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Belle Isle Bank. Gale warnings are in effect for South Coast, East
Coast - north of Cape St. Francis, Northeast Coast, Funk Island Bank,
and Northern Grand Banks.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except the Southern Grand Banks.
