By 3:30 p.m. NST Wednesday departing low 998 mb located east of
Funk Island Bank.
At 3:00 a.m. NST Wednesday ridge located over the Maritimes.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:55 PM NST 31 January 2023 An intensifying low pressure system over the Burin Peninsula willmove to lie east of Funk Island Bank Wednesday afternoon. Strong to
gale force southwesterlies will develop ahead of the low then shift
to strong to gale force northwesterlies in its wake.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
East Coast, Funk Island Bank, and Northern Grand Banks.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except Strait of Belle Isle and the Southern
Grand Banks.
