Issued 3:00 AM NST 9 December 2024 Today Tonight and Tuesday At 3:00 a.m. NST today low 999 mb located over Cabot Strait.
By 3:00 a.m. NST Tuesday low 988 mb located over Belle Isle Bank.

At 3:00 a.m. NST today ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over Belle Isle Bank.
By 10:00 a.m. NST today departing ridge located northeast of Belle
Isle Bank.

At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight approaching ridge located on a line
northwest-southeast over the Maritimes.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:58 AM NST 9 December 2024 An intensifying low pressure system located over the Cabot Strait
will cross Newfoundland today before moving northeastward to lie over
Belle Isle Bank tonight, and then northeast of the district on
Tuesday. Gale to storm force southeasterlies will develop ahead of
the low and shift to gale to storm force southwest to northwesterlies
in its wake.

Marine interests are advised storm warnings are in effect for Strait
of Belle Isle - eastern half, South Coast, East Coast, Northeast
Coast - Cape St. John and south, Belle Isle Bank, Funk Island Bank,
and Southwestern Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in effect for all
remaining waters except Northeast Gulf.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, and Northeast Coast -
north of Cape St. John.
