By 3:30 p.m. NST Wednesday low 983 mb located north of Labrador Sea.
At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight cold front from low located on a line
north-south over the South Coast of Newfoundland.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Wednesday cold front from low located east of
the Marine District.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 7:52 PM NST 18 January 2022 A low pressure system located near Lake Melville will move to lie
north of the Labrador Sea on Wednesday. A cold front associated with
the low located over the South Coast of Newfoundland will move to lie
east of the marine district Wednesday morning. Gale to storm force
southeasterlies ahead of the front will veer to strong to gale force
southwesterlies or westerlies as it passes.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
East Coast, Northeast Coast - Cape St. John and south, Belle Isle
Bank, Funk Island Bank, Northern Grand Banks, and Southeastern Grand
Banks. Gale warnings are in effect all remaining waters except Strait
of Belle Isle - western half, and the Gulf waters.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle, Gulf waters, East Coast, Northeast
Coast, Belle Isle Bank, and Funk Island Bank.
