At 3:00 a.m. NST Thursday trough from low located over Maine.
By 8:00 p.m. NST Thursday trough from low located on a line
north-south over the Northeast Coast of Newfoundland.
At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight quasi-stationary high located southeast
of the Grand Banks.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 7:37 PM NST 28 February 2024 A low pressure system will track northeastwards across Quebec tonight
to lie near Ungava Bay on Thursday. Meanwhile, a ridge of high
pressure southeast of the Grand Banks will remain nearly stationary.
Strong to gale force south to southwesterlies will spread across all
waters tonight between these two features. Winds will shift to strong
to gale force westerlies over western waters on Thursday as a trough
associated with the low moves into the district.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters except Southeastern Grand Banks.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Gulf waters.
