Issued 8:00 PM ADT 9 July 2020 Tonight and Friday At 8:00 p.m. ADT tonight trough located on a line north-south over
the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
By 10:00 a.m. ADT Friday weakening trough located over the eastern
Marine District.

At 8:00 p.m. ADT tonight low 1015 mb located east of Sable Island.
By 10:00 a.m. ADT Friday low 1015 mb located over the southern
Grand Banks.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 7:44 PM ADT 9 July 2020 Tropical cyclone information..

At 8:00 PM ADT tropical storm Fay was located near latitude 35.6
north and longitude 74.6 west, about 50 nautical miles or 90
kilometres northeast of Cape Hatteras. Maximum sustained winds are
estimated at 40 knots and the central pressure 1005 MB. Fay is
moving toward the north at 10 knots. Slight strengthening of Fay is
expected tonight and Friday as it moves along the mid-Atlantic coast
of the United States. Thereafter it is expected to weaken as it
moves inland over Southern New England and becomes absorbed into an
existing weather feature Friday night into Saturday. Southerly winds
up to 25 knots are likely over western waters on Saturday as this
combined feature passes well west of the district.
