Marine Weather Statement
Issued 2:46 AM AST 9 November 2024 A low pressure system over Newfoundland will continue to trackeastward today to lie over the Grand Banks by this afternoon. In the
wake of this system, strong to gale force northerly winds are
forecast and are expected to diminish tonight or Sunday morning over
eastern waters.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters except Fundy, Northumberland Strait - western half,
Chaleur-Miscou and Anticosti.
Outlook for the start-up of the Southwest New Brunswick lobster
fishery.
Monday..Wind southwest 10 to 15 knots increasing to southwest 20 in
the afternoon. Seas less than 1 metre increasing to 1 to 2 metres in
the afternoon.
Tuesday..Wind west 10 to 15 knots increasing to west 20 in the
afternoon and to northwest 25 in the evening. Seas 1 to 2 metres.
Wednesday..Wind north 25 knots becoming light in the afternoon. Seas
1 to 2 metres subsiding to 1 or less in the afternoon.
