Issued 3:30 PM ADT 13 March 2026 Tonight and Saturday At 3:30 p.m. ADT today departing low 980 mb located northeastof Newfoundland.
At 3:00 a.m. ADT Saturday low 999 mb located over southern Ontario.
By 8:00 p.m. ADT Saturday low 1000 mb located over eastern Nova
Scotia.
At 3:30 p.m. ADT today ridge located southwest of the Marine
District.
By 10:00 a.m. ADT Saturday departing ridge located over the
Grand Banks.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:39 PM ADT 13 March 2026 A deep low pressure system northeast of Newfoundland will continue topull away this evening. Meanwhile a ridge of high pressure will cross
the district tonight and into Saturday morning. Strong to gale force
westerlies will diminish this evening or overnight as the ridge moves
through.
A second low pressure system will approach the region from the west
on Saturday to lie over Eastern Nova Scotia by evening. Strong to
gale force easterlies will develop ahead of the low then shift to
strong to gale force westerlies in its wake.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Georges Bank, southwestern shore, LaHave Bank, West Scotian Slope,
eastern shore, Sable, East Scotian Slope, Fourchu, Banquereau,
Laurentian Fan, Cabot Strait and Gulf-Magdalen.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Cabot Strait - northern half and all Gulf of St. Lawrence
waters except Northumberland Strait - eastern half.
