Issued 10:00 AM AST 3 February 2023 Today Tonight and Saturday At 10:00 a.m. AST today trough from low located from AnticostiIsland to the Gulf of Maine.
By 3:30 p.m. AST today departing trough from low located from
Labrador to Laurentian Fan.
At 3:00 a.m. AST Saturday quasi-stationary low 958 mb located over
Labrador Sea.
At 3:30 p.m. AST today building ridge located on a line north-south
over Ontario.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Saturday ridge located on a line north-south over
New England.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:52 AM AST 3 February 2023 A trough of low pressure will cross the region today spreading strongto gale force southerlies ahead of it. In the wake of this trough,
the associated low will stall and deepen over the Labrador Sea.
A very cold westerly flow will develop over the district tonight with
gale to storm force winds and moderate to severe freezing spray.
Winds will ease and temperatures will rise Saturday night as a ridge
of high pressure approaches from the west.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Cabot Strait, Gulf-Magdalen northeastern half and Anticosti.
Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters. Freezing spray
warnings are in effect for all waters.
