Warnings (In effect)

High water level warning in effect

Chaleur - Miscou

Issued 02:54 AM ADT 17 October 2019 Higher than normal water levels are expected or occurring.

An intense low pressure system tracking toward the region will give strong easterly winds this afternoon and evening. These winds will produce waves which in combination with a storm surge will give higher than normal waters at high tide this evening. These water levels will result in flooding along coastlines and potential erosion to beaches and damage to infrastructure.

Coastal flooding is likely, especially during high tide. Exposed coastal areas are at risk of flooding, and vessels and marine infrastructure in those areas are at risk of damage.

High water level warnings are issued when water levels pose a threat to coastal regions.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. For more information monitor Canadian Coast Guard radio or Weatheradio stations.
