Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 3:00 AM AST 12 November 2024 Today Tonight and Wednesday At 3:00 a.m. AST today low 998 mb located over Maine.
By 8:00 p.m. AST tonight low 996 mb located southeast of Nova
Scotia.

At 3:00 a.m. AST Wednesday intensifying trough from low located
on a line north-south over the western Grand Banks.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:46 AM AST 12 November 2024 A broad area of low pressure from Maine to Labrador will intensify as
it shifts eastward today to lie over the Western Grand Banks on
Wednesday. Strong to gale force southerlies will continue over
southeastern waters while strong to gale force northerlies will
spread across the marine district beginning this afternoon in its
wake. Gale to possibly storm force northerlies are expected over
eastern waters Wednesday afternoon.


Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters except for Chaleur-Miscou - western half and Anticosti -
northwestern half.


Outlook for the start-up of the Southwest New Brunswick lobster
fishery.

Today..Wind light increasing to west 15 to 20 early in the
Afternoon and to north 25 except 35 in the west by the evening. Seas
less than 1 metre building to 1 to 2 metres in the evening.
Wednesday..Wind north 25 to 30 knots. Seas 1 to 2 metres.

Today..Wind southerly 10 to 15 knots increasing to northwest 25 late
in morning and to northwest 35 in the afternoon. Seas near 1 metre
building to 2 to 3 metres in the evening.
Wednesday..Wind north 35 knots diminishing to northeast 25 to 30 in
the afternoon. Seas near 2 metres.
Thursday..Wind north 25. Seas 1 to 2 metres.
Friday..Wind northwest 20 to 25 knots diminishing to northwest 15 in
the evening. Seas 1 to 2 metres diminishing to 1 metre or less in the
evening.
Saturday..Wind west 15 knots. Seas 1 metre or less.
