Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 3:00 AM AST 19 January 2025 Today Tonight and Monday At 3:00 a.m. AST today trough located over the western Marine
District.
By 3:00 a.m. AST Monday trough located east of the Marine District.

At 8:00 p.m. AST tonight deepening low 995 mb located southwest
of the Marine District.
By 3:30 p.m. AST Monday low 978 mb located northeast of Anticosti
Island.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:51 AM AST 19 January 2025 A trough of low pressure will cross the marine district today to lie
east of the region overnight Sunday. Strong to gale force southerlies
ahead of the trough will diminish in its wake.

An area of low pressure will approach the southwestern district
Sunday night and rapidly move northeastward across the central
district Monday morning to lie over Southeastern Labrador late in the
day. Gale force southwesterlies will develop south of the low. Strong
northeasterlies north of the low will become strong to gale force
northwesterlies as it passes.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters except Fundy, Grand Manan, Lurcher and Northumberland Strait -
eastern half. Freezing spray warnings are in effect for Fundy, Grand
Manan and all Gulf of St. Lawrence waters.
