Issued 3:00 AM AST 20 January 2019 Today Tonight and Monday At 3:00 a.m. AST today deepening low 993 mb located southeast of
the Great Lakes.
By 8:00 p.m. AST tonight low 986 mb located over the Gulf of Maine.

At 3:00 a.m. AST Monday low 984 mb located over southeastern
New Brunswick.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Monday low 985 mb located east of Anticosti Island.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:54 AM AST 20 January 2019 A deepening low pressure system southeast of the Great Lakes will
move over Southeastern New Brunswick overnight before tracking east
of Anticosti Island Monday evening. South of the low's track
strenghthening southeasterlies will reach gale force later this
morning or early this afternoon before increasing to gale to storm
force southerlies tonight. North of the low's track moderate to
strong northeasterlies will increase to gale force northeasterlies
this afternoon. The northeasterlies are expected to reach storm force
over Chaleur-Miscou this evening and will likely be close to storm
force over Anticosti and northern parts of the Gulf of St. Lawrence.

On Monday the storm force southerlies will move out of eastern waters
during the day. Elsewhere strong to gale force southwesterlies can be
expected over southern waters while strong to gale force
northwesterlies prevail behind the low over northern waters.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Lurcher, Browns Bank, Georges Bank, southwestern shore, LaHave Bank,
West Scotian Slope, eastern shore, Sable, East Scotian Slope,
Fourchu, Banquereau, Laurentian Fan, Cabot Strait and Chaleur-Miscou.
Gale warnings are in effect for Fundy, Grand Manan, Northumberland
Strait, Gulf-Magdalen and Anticosti.

Freezing spray warnings are in effect for Fundy, Grand Manan,
Lurcher, Browns Bank, Northumberland Strait, Gulf-Magdalen and

In addition, higher than normal water levels combined with heavy
pounding surf are expected along parts of the Atlantic Coast during
high tide Sunday night and Monday. Some coastline of the Gulf of St.
Lawrence waters are also likely to see higher than normal water
levels near high tide later today and Monday as well as possible ice
