Rain beginning this afternoon changing to showers and fog patches this evening and ending Tuesday morning.

Risk of freezing spray Tuesday evening.

Issued 3:00 AM AST 17 January 2022 Today Tonight and Tuesday At 3:00 a.m. AST today low 986 mb located southwest of Long Island.
By 8:00 p.m. AST tonight low 982 mb located over Maine.

At 10:00 a.m. AST Tuesday low 980 mb located over western Labrador.

At 3:00 a.m. AST today high 1029 mb located over the southern
Marine District.
By 3:30 p.m. AST today high 1029 mb located east of the Marine
District.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:50 AM AST 17 January 2022 An intense low pressure system developing along the Eastern Seaboard
of the U.S. will track northward today and tonight, passing just west
of the district, to lie over Western Labrador by Tuesday morning.
Gale to storm force southerly winds will develop ahead of this
system, while strong to gale force westerly winds are forecast in its
wake.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
all waters except Fundy, Northumberland Strait, Chaleur-Miscou and
Anticosti - western half, which have gale warnings.

Freezing spray warnings are in effect for Fundy, Grand Manan,
Northumberland Strait, Gulf-Magdalen, Chaleur-Miscou and Anticosti.

Marine interests are also advised that higher than normal water
levels and rough seas are expected along the Atlantic Coast near high
tide this evening and also along the northern coastline of Cabot
Strait, over south facing shorelines of Newfoundland at high tide
Tuesday morning.
