By 8:00 p.m. NDT tonight quasi-stationary low 990 mb located over
the southwestern Grand Banks.
At 3:30 p.m. NDT today intensifying trough from low located over
central Newfoundland.
By 3:30 p.m. NDT Tuesday trough from low located over southwestern
Newfoundland.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:22 PM NDT 29 April 2024 A low pressure system over the Southern Grand Banks will stall overthe Southwestern Grand Banks this evening. Strong to gale force east
to southeasterly winds are expected to the north and east of the low
tonight and Tuesday.
A trough of low pressure associated with the low will lie over
Southwestern Newfoundland tonight. Strong to gale force northerly
winds will develop over Gulf waters tonight as the trough
intensifies.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Gulf - Port au Port, Northern Grand Banks, Southeastern Grand Banks,
and Southwestern Grand Banks - northern half.
