By 3:30 p.m. NST Sunday low 974 mb located over Belle Isle Bank.
At 3:00 a.m. NST Sunday intensifying low 989 mb located south of
Laurentian Fan.
By 8:00 p.m. NST Sunday low 957 mb located southeast of the
Grand Banks.
At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight weakening low 986 mb located over the
Quebec Lower North Shore.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:52 PM NST 23 January 2021 A low pressure system over Funk Island Bank will move northwardstonight and will drift slowly westwards across Southern Belle Isle
Bank on Sunday. Gale to storm force northeasterlies can be expected
to its north with strong to gale force westerlies to its south.
A rapidly intensifying second low pressure system will develop south
of Laurentian Fan overnight before tracking eastwards south of the
marine district on Sunday. Strong to gale force northeasterlies will
develop over southern waters on Sunday as the low passes.
Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Belle Isle Bank. Gale warnings are in effect for Strait of Belle
Isle, Northeast Gulf, Funk Island Bank and Southeastern Grand Banks -
southeastern half.
