Issued 3:30 PM NST 8 March 2021 Tonight and Tuesday At 3:30 p.m. NST today trough located over northern Belle Isle Bank.By 3:00 a.m. NST Tuesday departing trough located east of Belle
Isle Bank.
At 3:30 p.m. NST today deepening low 1000 mb located south of
Laurentian Fan.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Tuesday low 972 mb located east of the Grand Banks.
At 3:30 p.m. NST today quasi-stationary ridge located on a line
east-west over Newfoundland.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:16 PM NST 8 March 2021 A trough of low pressure over Northern Belle Isle Bank will movesoutheastward to depart east of Belle Isle Bank tonight. Strong to
gale force northwesterlies are expected over northern waters tonight
in the wake of the trough.
A deepening low pressure system well south of Laurentian Fan will
track northeastward to lie east of the Grand Banks Tuesday afternoon.
Strong to gale force northeasterly winds will develop over southern
waters ahead of the low then shift to gale to storm force
northwesterlies in its wake.
Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Southeastern Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in effect for Belle Isle
Bank, Northern Grand Banks, and Southwestern Grand Banks.
Marine interests are also advised that a freezing spray warning is in
effect for Belle Isle Bank.
