North Shore.
At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight deepening low 987 mb located over the
southwestern Grand Banks.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Saturday low 979 mb located over eastern Funk
Island Bank.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:58 PM NST 22 January 2021 A low pressure system over Funk Island Bank will move northwestwardto lie over Southern Belle Isle Bank overnight then over the Quebec
Lower North Shore on Saturday. Gale force east to northeasterly winds
can be expected to the north of the low, with gale force west to
northwesterlies in its wake.
A second low over the Southwestern Grand Banks will move to lie over
Eastern Funk Island Bank Saturday evening. Strong to gale force
southeasterly to northeasterly winds will continue over southern and
eastern most waters tonight ahead of the low then shift to strong to
gale force westerlies on Saturday in its wake.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Strait of Belle Isle, East Coast - north of Cape St. Francis, Belle
Isle Bank, Funk Island Bank, and the Grand Banks.
