Issued 3:00 AM NDT 9 March 2026 Today Tonight and Tuesday At 3:00 a.m. NDT today trough located over Newfoundland.By 8:00 p.m. NDT tonight departing trough located east of Funk
Island Bank.
At 3:00 a.m. NDT today ridge located on a line northeast-southwest
over the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
By 3:00 a.m. NDT Tuesday departing ridge located east of the
Marine District.
At 3:00 a.m. NDT Tuesday approaching low 986 mb located over
western Labrador.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 2:37 AM NDT 9 March 2026 A trough of low pressure over Newfoundland will continue eastward tolie over Funk Island Bank this morning and east of the marine
district by this evening. Strong to gale force southwesterlies will
continue over the eastern half of the district today ahead of the
trough.
Meanwhile, a deepening low pressure over Quebec this evening will
cross Labrador tonight before moving east of the marine district
Tuesday evening. Gale to storm force southwesterlies ahead of the low
tonight veer to gale to storm force northwesterlies on Tuesday as it
passes.
Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Strait of Belle Isle, Northeast Coast, Belle Isle Bank and Funk
Island Bank. Gale warnings are in effect for Gulf waters and Northern
Grand Banks.
Marine interests are also advised that a freezing spray warning is in
effect for Belle Isle Bank.
