Marine Weather StatementIssued 2:48 AM NST 1 February 2023 A low pressure system east of the Avalon Peninsula will continue
northeastwards today to lie east of Funk Island Bank this afternoon.
Strong to gale force southwesterlies will continue ahead of the low
then shift to strong to gale force northwesterlies in its wake.
A second low pressure system will intensify today south of Nova
Scotia and move eastwards to lie just southeast of the Grand Banks by
Thursday morning. Strong to gale force northeasterlies will develop
to the north of the low before shifting to moderate to strong north
to northwesterlies in its wake.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
East Coast, Funk Island Bank, Northern Grand Banks and Southeastern
