By 3:00 a.m. NDT Thursday departing ridge located east of the
Marine District.
At 3:30 p.m. NDT today deepening low 992 mb located over western
Labrador.
By 3:30 p.m. NDT Thursday low 984 mb located over northern Belle
Isle Bank.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:13 PM NDT 20 May 2026 A deepening low pressure system over Western Labrador will crossBelle Isle Bank on Thursday and then move east of the region Thursday
night. Strong to gale force southerlies will develop ahead of the low
and then shift to gale to storm force west to northwesterlies in its
wake.
Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Belle Isle Bank. Gale warnings are in effect for Strait of Belle
Isle, Gulf waters, Northeast Coast, and Funk Island Bank.
