At 8:00 p.m. NDT tonight ridge located on a line northwest-southeast
over northern Quebec.
By 8:00 p.m. NDT Saturday ridge located on a line north-south over
Funk Island Bank.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:56 PM NDT 17 April 2026 A trough of low pressure over the Northern Grand Banks will continuetracking eastward tonight before lying east of the marine district by
Saturday afternoon. Strong to gale force northwesterlies will
continue over eastern waters behind the trough tonight and will
diminish on Saturday as the trough moves away.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings in effect for Belle
Isle Bank, Funk Island Bank, and Northern Grand Banks.
Marine interests are advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Strait of Belle Isle - eastern half, Northeast Coast,
Belle Isle Bank, and Funk Island Bank.
